Lux Radio Theater - Better Than An E-Book

You can listen to someone reading an ebook, page after page after page, the same voice which tries at time to add a little variation. OR you can listen to the MP3 as noted below and all the 1 hour episodes of the old movie classics as performed for radio by the original actors who acted in the film version. There is no comparison between radio drama as performed by Hollywood's great stars to a single voice trying its best to take on all the roles of a book with out much success. You can find this CD and many others at http://www.originaloldradio.com/

Bogart, The African Queen, Bold Venture

Here is a bit of history of the making of the movie "The African Queen"

The African Queen was filmed mostly on location in Africa, where almost all the cast and crew suffered from malaria and dysentery—except director John Huston and Bogart, neither of whom ever drank any water. Hepburn, ever the urologist's daughter, disapproved of the two men's drinking and piously drank gallons of water each day to spite them. She wound up so sick with dysentery that, even months after she returned home, the famously vigorous actress was still ill.

Not many know that Humphrey Bogart and his wife Lauren Bacall starred in their own radio show, "Bold Venture"

For the October update I have added photos of those appearing on the "Gisele Of Canada" old radio show webpages. Not many remember the radio show even when considering many of the top stars of the period graced Gisele's show.

Ginny Simms old radio show

LISTEN AGAIN TO RADIO OF YESTERYEAR

Tired of the same old radio news stations or music stations you listen to while on the way to work, then why not try listening to one of the great radio shows from the past. There's drama, comedy, sci-fi, western, etc. It's better than just listening to some talk show host everyday. Also it's great for your iPod while you jog.
